The Porcupine

Writer: glenhaneyglenhaney

The skunk knocked on his prickly friend’s door. Come in he heard from within.

Been waiting for you the whole night through! Both laughed as nocturnal animals

Are prone to do when discussing the mite of difference between day and night.

Don’t stand too close, his friend advised, you might get stuck on me!

This running joke had run its course as well as “what’s that smell?” Two outcasts,

Even in their own class, they had bonded as the like-minded often do.

What they had in common was ridicule and rejection from both man and beast.

A case in point: Porky’s niece wore a lovely sleeveless gown when going to town.

Casually dropping in on The Tavern on the Green she got only scream reviews.

A touching story about 2 friends - different yet the same spirits with much in common. Love it, Glen 😘
