Round

In my childhood mind,

the horizon was a rigid

line that halted our walks.

I was soaked with the

notion there was always

an ocean and if we took

another step we’d get wet.

This advanced theory was

shot down in first grade

when Julie Brown said in

a loud voiced that

the earth is round!
