Precocity

Early signs of imagination and determination placed

him on a trajectory that positioned him in a favored

Place to face the world.  His parents were proud but

Cowed by his precocity and intellectual appetite.  An

Uncle observed and swerved his own life to intersect

With his nephew and the two of them came together

To garner his potential and support his alarmingly fast

Pace through, high school, and college. Along the way

His uncle had gained a modesty that rounded out his own

precocity as a mature adult who began his life as a

professor of mathematics.  As the uncle reached ninety,

their relationship blossomed again and he became

caregiver to his uncle and in those reversed roles, they

               rolled thru the rest of his uncle’s life!
