The near mountains, pretending to be a piece
of the sky, seem to be moving further and further
away from me.
With their majestic peaks leaking snow and ancient
trails tracing a rock-strewn gash in the
underbrush, they still reach out to touch me as I pass,
This must arrest all who climb its height to see the restless
ocean rocking rhythmically in its gigantic tub rubbing the earth
inexorably into granular bits of sand
