As our lives unfurl, we are reminded of another
World, a world of innocence punctuated by an
Urgent need to succeed at marbles, mumble Peg
Baseball, dating, mating and cohabitating. That
Other you, with all you knew about him and he
About you, is still there tinkering with the tiller
Of the precarious little ship you still share.
I love this. And yes, "tinkering with the tiller of the precarious little ship you still share" really struck a chord.
