At Ninety Five

Tired of being sick, I awoke with a new resolve:

Ditch all the excuses I find that bind me to

the rocking chair at the foot of the stair

and take a fling on this thing called today.

Who am I and who am I going to be is the

same refrain I sang as a teen and fits today

the same way as then when the panoply of

choices exceeded my greed and burgeoning

needs. Retrofit the bulging kit I have amassed

and target today as though it would never go

away. And when it does, I shall have made a

worthy shot at the Final Goal.
