Today’s rain herds us inside where we watch it glide
down the window panes in tiny rivulets looking for
a dry place to hide out of the wind.
My favored place during rain is among the tall pines
where droplets swing acrobatically and fall long after
the storm has gone home to get out of the weather.
Rain triggers our herding instinct to huddle together
under bumbershoots as we drip and drag ourselves to
shelter to dry out with a shot of rye to keep us dry.

Yes...nice to welcome the season's first rain. Your imagery is lovely, Glen!
